John M. Pumphrey: An accomplished and highly skilled trial lawyer, relentlessly dedicated to serving his clients.

 

John M. Pumphrey focuses his practice on catastrophic and personal injury matters, including medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, products liability, commercial and motor vehicle accidents and premises liability.

 

Mr. Pumphrey is a 1996 graduate of Widener University School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and was one of the first law review members of The Widener Law Symposium Journal. He completed the ITAP (Intensive Trial Advocacy Program) during his final year of law school. Mr. Pumphrey graduated from Temple University in 1993 with honors, with an undergraduate bachelor's degree in Philosophy.

 

In November of 2002, Mr. Pumphrey was appointed by Governor Edward G. Rendell to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Medical Malpractice Insurance Crisis Task Force. The Task Force was comprised of 28 individuals, including attorneys, physicians and representatives of hospitals and insurance companies. The Task Force was charged with creating comprehensive measures to address the issues of improving the availability of health care in Pennsylvania and providing economic relief for vulnerable physicians and hospitals. Mr. Pumphrey served on the Task Force until its conclusion and final report in 2004.

 

In May of 2008, Mr. Pumphrey received his LL.M. (Masters) in Trial Advocacy from the Temple University - James E. Beasley School of Law. This intensive one-year program is focused exclusively on the refinement and sharpening of courtroom skills and techniques. The program is conducted by nationally recognized trial lawyers, law professors and communications experts.

 

Mr. Pumphrey has extensive trial experience. Before joining Soloff & Zervanos, he was a trial lawyer specializing in medical malpractice defense, personally responsible for representing hundreds of health care providers, including hospitals, physicians, nurses and nursing home facilities.

 

Mr. Pumphrey has tried cases in both the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is an active member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Associations. He licensed to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
